If you regularly watch TV or consume digital finance media, you’ve probably seen a commercial for TD Ameritrade. Managed portfolio minimums range from $25,000 to $250,000, depending on the product. Options and margin investors must deposit at least $2,000 to get started.

Futures trades cost $2.25 per contract plus regulatory fees.
Commissions: No commissions for self-directed stock, options, or ETF trades, though options trades carry a $0.65 fee per contract.Platforms: All account holders have access to four platforms with no platform fees: standard web platform, Thinkorswim advanced trading platform, TD Ameritrade Mobile, and Thinkorswim Mobile (variations on the mobile trading theme).Orders placed by other means will have additional transaction costs. Spreads, Straddles, and other multiple-leg option orders placed online will incur $0.65 fees per contract on each leg. When the Extended-Hours Trading session is hidden, you can select S tart aggregations at market open so that intraday bars are aggregated starting at regular market open (8:30 am CST). Select Highlight Extended-Hours Trading session if you prefer to view the non-trading hours in a different color.
